TRESTLEBOARD

October 2005

From The East

Brethren:

The Master has been out of pocket and I don't like for our Pickle Board to be late. But I have something to think on.

Our identity as Masons must include work on ourselves, both as individuals and as a Brotherhood. Our decline in membership over the past 50 years is merely a symptom of the loss of Masonry's relevance to our lives and communities. We have individually and colletively allowed our lethargy to encrust the Jewels of Masonry, which has been bequeathed to us to pass on to the future. Our focus on the past has blinded us to the challenges of the present. And it is the present that we must address both as individuals and as a Fraternal Organization. Our reliance on former Brothers success has weakened our commitment to achieving our own Masonic identities.

Fraternally and on the Square,

For JD Weiss
Worshipful Master

Charlie Mowery
Secretary

From the West

Brethren:

The weather is changing and soon the clocks will change, at the same time our lodge will be changing it's Officers. It's a change we all have become taken as a fact, but this is a special moment in a Lodge and one we should remember as Masons. We are not petty and do not say things about our Brothers without knowledge of what we don't know. Remember, we call each other Brother and as Brothers we should act as such.

By the Leval,

Rick Davis PM
Senior Warden

From the Secretary's Desk

Brethren:

Well the mornings are getting darker and our puppy is having a tough time. It's not time to go for his walk, but enough of trouble at the Mowery's.

It's time for all our members to roll their sleeves up and get to work making our Lodge a great and busy place again. Along with this, as Secretary of the Lodge, it would be nice if everyone would pay his dues early this next year.

By the Quill and Heart,

Charlie N. Mowery PM
Secretary
