TRESTLEBOARD

July 2005

From The East

Brethren:

Normally we would be dark in July. However, after a lengthy discussion with Michael Lintner, Grand Master of Masons in Nevada, we will hold a Stated Meeting on 11 July to replace the one we canceled due to severe winter weather. We are required to hold 10 Stated meetings a year.

I encourage everyone to attend the july Stated Meeting to help bring our Candidate to Light. Yes, we are holding an EA Degree; which I hope is the first of many to come. Dinner is at 6:30 pm with the meeting starting at 7:30 pm.

Again I ask everyone to Subscribe to the Lodge e-mail notification list, which will be used to supplement the written Trestle Board with important information and meeting reminders. So far, we only have 12 subscribers and I know there are many more Golden Lodge #50 Brothers with e-mail. If you are having problems subscribing, contact me via e-mail.

Fraternally and on the Square,

JD Weiss
Worshipful Master

From the West

My Brothers:

We, at the next stated meeting, will begin the process of bringing someone into our Lodge. His determination to continue will be enhanced by the message he receives from the members of our Lodge. If we continue to have the support of the few who attend Lodge on a regular basis, he may decide it is not something he wishes to continue. However, if we have support from the members who do not attend any more, he may very well realize the true meaning of the Masonic Order. What better way to welcome a new guest than with our presence on a continued basis.

I suggest each of us look deep within & renew our Obligation to the Craft. The Cable Tow is adjustable, depending on the circumstances. However, should it include your favorite program on TV, or something done on a meeting night that can be put off till another? I am not suggesting putting off those things which are necessary, only those things we have deemed as such when they are really not.

I would like each Brother to keep your ears open and be aware of any other Lodge which is in the same, or worse, condition as is ours. There would be a great opportunity for us to advance to them an open harbor for them to come safely into. If we do not do this, one day we may be looking for that same safe harbor.

Fraternally Yours By the Leval,

Rick Davis PM
Senior Warden

From the Secretary's Desk

Brethren:

Great News! The Master is having a new Candidate initiated for our July Stated Meeting. As we had to make up for the meeting we missed due to the snow (Blizzard) that caused our February meeting to be canceled. A new Candidate makes up for everything. Please take the time and help our Lodge make this a new begining.

There are still a few Members who should check their Dues cards and take care of it.

Looking forward to seeing a lot of people at Lodge. Just in case someone has forgotten, "Second Monday" of the month for Stated Meetings.

By the Quill and Heart,

Charlie N. Mowery PM
Secretary
